Add knowledge via document upload: Everything you need to know!
How exactly does neuroflash process the content from the uploaded documents?
The technology behind our document upload is called Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG). Here, neuroflash processes the uploaded document, tries to extract the entire text from it and then divides it into sub-parts (paragraphs, sentences, ...). These sub-parts are also referred to as "chunks". In a subsequent text generation query by the user, in which the document is selected or attached, the RAG system attempts to return exactly those chunks that are relevant for "answering/completing" the query.
The main goal here is to optimize the output of the AI model so that it accesses an individual knowledge base outside of its training data sources before generating an answer.
What type of content can be uploaded?
The RAG system can currently only process textual knowledge. Only text information is subsequently taken into account for the text query. In addition, the uploaded documents and their content must be compliant with our terms and conditions.
What file types can I upload? How large can the file be?
The following file types are supported:
- .doc
- .docx
The maximum file size for all file types is 5 MB.
Can images, tables and graphics be included in the uploaded documents? What impact do they have on the performance of Brand Hub?
Images, tables and graphics in the uploaded documents are not recognized by the RAG system and therefore cannot be taken into account as knowledge. This does not mean that uploaded knowledge may not contain images, tables and graphics, but unfortunately this content cannot be processed.
Tip: The less formatted the content in the documents, the better they will be recognized by the RAG system. So if text content is saved in table form, it is advisable to convert this content into a non-formatted format before uploading.
The quality of the regular textual content is not negatively affected by any images, tables or graphics contained.
What are the character restrictions or general restrictions when uploading .doc, .docx and .pdf files?
There are no character restrictions. The maximum file size of 5 MB is decisive for the upload.
I received an error when uploading documents. How can I edit or delete them?
If an error occurs when uploading or processing files, the file will not be saved. An error message will explain the reason for the error. The file should then be uploaded again after any revisions have been made.
If I delete my uploaded documents/knowledge, are they deleted forever?
Yes, if documents/knowledge are deleted, they can no longer be found and cannot be restored.
