Different Areas of a Brand Voice
All Areas | Explanations | Illustrations | Examples
The new Brand Voices offer a variety of possibilities. Here, we'll explain what each section means and how it impacts your texts.
You can edit and modify your Brand Voices at any time.
1. Description Text
The description text summarizes the overall mood and feel of the brand and gives the AI an initial impression. While the description text serves as a general framework, the other profile settings provide the detailed specifications.
💡 TIP: When writing your description text, use specific terms that reflect your brand's personality, e.g., "young and dynamic," "serious and professional," or "humorous and creative."
2. General Tone
Here you define the fundamental tone of your texts. Should your brand presence be friendly, serious, humorous, or even provocative? The tone is reflected in all generated content to ensure consistency.
❗️ IMPORTANT
In some text settings, you can specify an additional tone. Keep in mind that the Brand Voice tone and the additional tone should complement each other rather than contradict. Otherwise, this can lead to inconsistent content.
3. Keywords
The AI will often automatically detect and save key terms when creating your Brand Voice. You can then edit, delete, or add new terms. In total, you can specify up to 30 keywords that particularly define your brand. The AI will select these terms contextually and use them explicitly when they fit the text.
💡 EXAMPLE
A fashion company could use terms like "fashion-forward," "trendy," or "iconic." These terms will then be integrated into the texts. If your brand introduces new keywords, you can always add them here.
4. Brand Values
In most cases, your brand values will also be detected automatically. Here, you can define up to 10 values that reflect your brand's character and core message. These values influence content themes and ensure your brand communicates authentically and consistently.
💡 IMPORTANT
Ensure that your brand values do not contradict other Brand Voice settings.
5. Writing Style
Here, you can define detailed guidelines for your writing style to ensure your content meets your desired standards.
This includes:
-
Language (e.g., English, German, Spanish)
-
Technical Language/Jargon: Specify whether your texts should be simple, balanced, or highly technical.
-
Abbreviations: Define if and how abbreviations should be used.
-
Emojis: Specify the frequency of emoji usage: None, Minimal, Moderate, Frequent, Casual.
-
Active or passive voice: Choose between active or passive phrasing.
6. Formatting Rules
To ensure consistency in your texts, you can define specific formatting rules that your brand/company follows:
-
Headings (Use of uppercase letters, punctuation, etc.)
-
Hyphens (Use in brand names, complex terms, etc.)
-
Perspective and pronouns (I-perspective, we-perspective, you-form, etc.)
7. Glossary & Abbreviations
The glossary helps the AI use terms in your brand's desired context. You can define terms and abbreviations specific to your brand.
💡 EXAMPLES
Goldbears: The iconic gummy bears by HARIBO.
G+: Gram-positive bacteria are a group of bacteria characterized by their cell wall structure and appear violet during the Gram staining process.
8. Advanced Rules
Advanced rules allow you to define even more detailed specifications and are linked to your plan:
-
Pro Plan: Up to 3 advanced rules
-
Business Plan: Up to 40 advanced rules
Advanced rules provide precise instructions for complex brand guidelines and enhance content consistency.
9. Permissions
Your Brand Voice – your rules.
You decide who gets access to your Brand Voice and who can view it.
Keep it private just for yourself – or share it with your entire workspace.
